hopes&dreams?

here goes my long, long list of things i would like for my house. ahem, home. (in no particular order)

1. i'd love to take out my shower insert and replace it with mosaic-y tile and a glass door. i'm sick of the cheap, dingy feel of the one i have now.

2. (fake) wood floors. my senile dog is getting the best of my already-kind-of-nasty carpet. just 3 rooms and the hallway need it. it'd make such a difference.

3. a glass storm door (with a screened window). my entryway could really use the natural light.

4. picture wall. now that my laundry room is glorious (i'll post later), the wallspace across from it could use some photos. plus, the new light fixture me and j put up would cast plenty of light on it.

5. spruce up my garage facade. maybe i'll add some carriage detail, and lights on either side would be (pricey, but) nice. painting my entire house exterior can be included in this one.

6. new washer and dryer pedestal(s) à la dad. i don't really like the ones that are sold by appliance companies and i really don't like the price of them. so, pretty sure we can com up with something cuter and more functional.

7. patio furniture. my backyard would be 10x cuter with some comfy seating. plus, our bbq's would be more enjoyable. (and, i think miles and remy would really appreciate some doggy digs.

8. a new oven + gas. (this one will never happen, but man is it gorgeo armani)

9. pay off my credit cards. this may have to come first..so i can buy all of the above;)

Tuesday

and more about t.v.

my sister and i were just talking about this show, Perfect Couples (season 1 debuted in 2010 and was cancelled after 11 episodes)i am watching them over again. it's a really cute, really funny show. i've been laughing out loud.
Vance is my favorite^^, probably because he reminds me of my bf, jere.
all of the couples are cute and relatable. i wish it would have made it for round 2. :(

Saturday

is it warm in here?

ryan at the drive premier in toronto. [socialitelife.com]
oh boy. i'm ready to see Drive this weekend! my us magazine gave it 2/5 stars, but it's at a 92% on rottentomatoes.

Friday

my schedule is booked.

and now for the shows to watch:

raising hope.
a 25-year-old guy finds himself a single dad and has to learn to raise a baby with the help of his crazy family. (yeah, i'm sure it's super dorky. but it looks pretty funny)

new girl.
jessica (zooey deschanel)'s boyfriend breaks up with her--she turns into a hot mess, finds an apartment with 3 guys, and they try to fix her.

it's always sunny in philadelphia.
4 friends own an irish bar in philly. (i have seen a lot of this show, and it is pretty freakin' funny. plus, it made me love horrible bosses because charlie day is so stinking cute!)

pushing daisies.
a pie-maker helps solve murder mysteries with his secret talent--he can bring back the dead. (i've seen most of season 1--this show is precious. it's got a lot of color and whimsy! plus there's a catch to his power and you just gotta watch!)

weeds.
comedy about a suburban mom/drug dealer. (i think it's a good show whether or not you smoke. i also think people assume you smoke because you watch the show)

parks and recreation.
basically the office meets smoky the bear. (i've had a lot of recommendations for this one!)

arrested development.
micheal bluth (jason bateman!) is the most level-headed of his family, and so takes over the family business when his father is imprisoned for embezzlement. (this show kills me! the characters are absolutely ridiculous. plus, there may be a movie coming soon)

up all night.
new parents. (this one is definitely funnier if you have kids, but i did laugh a lot when i watched the season premier. i'll watch more because i love will arnett--who's also in arrested development!)

breaking bad.
chemistry-genius-turned-chemistry-teacher learns he has terminal cancer and uses his expertise to leave his family a legacy. even if that means producing high-quality crystal meth. (i have seasons 1, 2 & 3 and now it's on netflix, wtf? it's really good.)

Thursday

televisionobsession.

i've been getting into tv more than usual in the past few months. i'm making a recommendation list (and later, a want-to-watch list)

1. grey's anatomyi am hopelessly addicted to this show. (poor j lost me for at least a week when i was getting through the seasons on hulu) i kind of watched the first season on tv with my mom and sister in 2005, but they fizzled out on it when meredith was in an afterlife-y situation. well, i recently blazed on through and am now eagerly awaiting season 8! i do admit it's probably time for the show to be over, but i'll watch 'til the end.

2. the real housewives of beverly hills
i do have a soft spot for reality tv. i guess i just like watching chaos and drama. not much to say about this one, i'm slightly ashamed myself. all the girls are ridiculous and there's always some sort of tiff between someone to keep me interested. but honestly, sit me down in front of a reality show about anyone, and i'm hooked. cough cough, tia and tamara.

3. pretty little liars
abc family knows how to get it done. this show has its corny moments, but overall i am 100% addicted. the characters are cute, the clothes are cuter, there are twists and every episode leaves you wanting to know what happens next. everyone at work talked about this show, so i finally gave in after making fun of my sister for watching it.

4. friends
at any given moment, i'm ready to pop in one of the 40 friends discs i own. it never gets old, and falling asleep to scenes i can picture without looking is comforting. my favorite character is chandler (not pictured, wtf?) but all six are lovable in their own way. people usually choose sides between seinfeld and friends..but there's no contest in my book.

5. nurse jackie
still a bit confused as to why i am addicted to this show, but i rushed out and grabbed season 2 as soon as i was done with season 1. the characters are all oddly likable in a really realistic sort of way. after watching the first three episodes i wasn't intrigued but kept going..the last episode of the season is a cliffhanger, and by that time you're unexplainably hooked anyway. i think i like the no make-up, no hot character thing (except for jackie's husband, swoon)

6. scrubs
best show ever. i was a little leery at first, but was told over and over by the bf that it was worth watching. i have never loved characters in a show like i love j.d., dr. cox, jordan and turk. it's got funny slapstick moments, hilarious rants, raves and daydreams PLUS its got a good story line (that brought me to tears on multiple occasions) there are 9 seasons, but i watched 1-8 (after that, some characters change) i may give season 9 a chance when i'm done with some other shows..
